Teil des Instituts für Digital Engineering und Autonome Systeme (Institute for Digital Engineering and Autonomous Systems –IDEAS) der Universität die 12,7 Millionen £ (15,2 Millionen €), 1.500 m² umfassende digitale Innovationseinrichtung (Digital Innovation Facility –DIF) besteht aus mehreren Forschungslaboren, immersiven Visualisierungseinrichtungen sowie Arbeits-und Pausenräume für die Wissenschaftler. Der Motion-Capture-Spezialist Target3D, der mit dem Bau von zwei Laboren der DIF beauftragt worden war, wandte sich an ST Engineering Antycip, einen weltweit führenden Anbieter von Simulations-, Analyse-, Modellierungs-, Anzeige-und Virtual-Reality-Lösungen, damit sie eine hochmoderne Projektionseinrichtung liefern und konfigurieren, die für das Mixed-Reality-Labor bestimmt war, in dem sich das erste aktive Stereoprojektionssystem Großbritanniens befindet, das in der Lage ist, mehrere individuell verfolgte Blickwinkel darzustellen.
